Filter the file
Because every address is tied to a registry record, the file can be cut on things a scraped list cannot answer: licence status, business phone, firm, and state of practice.

Only states whose registry we hold can be verified this way. The remaining -233,060 addresses are real and crawled the same way, but we cannot attach a licence record to them, so they are sold separately and described as unverified rather than padded into the count above.

We can offer that because of how the file is built, not because we are confident. Every address was read from a named attorney's own bio page and matched to a licence that is active today — so there is nothing in here that was appended from a third-party database, guessed from a naming pattern, or left in after the person moved on. Vendors selling compiled attorney files have documented bounce rates of 50–70%, which is why none of them will write this sentence.
How it is built, and what we refuse to do
Every address comes from the attorney's own page
We read the address published on the attorney's bio page and check it against the name on that page. A firm's webmaster, press or general-enquiries address never gets attached to a person. If a page carries only a generic office inbox, it produces no record at all.
We drop matches we cannot defend
An address is only tied to an attorney when the surname agrees and something else corroborates it — the domain belongs to that attorney's firm, the given name matches, or the address itself contains the surname. Where two different people had an equal claim, the record was discarded rather than guessed at. A wrong address on a named attorney is worse than no address.
Sites that ask not to be collected are skipped
We honour robots.txt, and we do not reverse anti-harvesting measures. Where a firm obscures its addresses, we leave them alone rather than decode them.
Counts are exact
Every number on this site is a live count from the database, not a rounded marketing figure. That is deliberate: the going rate in this market is a list that bounces on half its rows, and the only way to be different is to publish numbers that survive being checked.
